Loss Prevention Series

Internal Theft Prevention

Internal Theft Prevention is the first of four online training modules in NRHA’s new Loss Prevention Training Series. It is designed to help owners and managers prevent employee theft.

External Theft Prevention

This module is designed to help employees learn about the effects shoplifting can have on a retail home improvement store. It also contains tips on how to spot it, how to deal with it properly when it happens and how to prevent it from happening in the first place.

Our Three Pennies of Profit

Originially created in 1990, this training video was developed to help retailers better communicate the ideas of profit and loss to employees. Twenty years later, NRHA announces the re-release of Our Three Pennies of Profit. This new and improved edition discusses profit and loss in today’s terms-using modern verbiage and referencing store features in line with today’s industry.

NRHA’s new Basic Training Course in Hardware Retailing and Basic Training Course in Building Materials Retailing are comprehensive product knowledge training programs that include coursework, testing, instant grading feedback and a complete progress report for each student enrolled from your business. The student studies online or prints each chapter for review, then takes each chapter test online. His test is immediately graded and results returned for the student’s review, and a complete student progress report is sent to the store manager or store owner.

Building Materials Product Knowledge Course

This 15-chapter course addresses the employee training needs of retailers primarily engaged in selling LBM products. This program is delivered in the same way as the Advanced Course in Hardware Retailing.
